In My Humble Opinion

A journal to vent about why people are like that and why all the stupid things they do are so obvious to me, from not using their turn signals to believing they're the centre of the universe to sweating the small stuff to ignoring the fact we're all just trying to make our way in this insanely crowded world but some of us are doing it a whole lot better than others.

"Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former." - Albert Einstein

Sometimes you just need to rant - get life's annoyances off your chest and lift that weight of human stupidity off your shoulders. This is where my latest bookshelf addition comes in..

I spotted this book in an odd little shop that sells all the stuff you don't need but really want and I nabbed it on behalf of my mum as a little birthday present for myself. But of course I couldn't wait a month to express my love for it hence this post just under a month prior to the actually date (18th of December hint hint). It is filled with prompts like the one above and allows a page for each day something pisses you off, you can even date it, as well as "todays definitive conclusion about humanity" allowing you a selection from a thumbs up, down, a peace sign and the classic middle finger for when you're really pissed.

If you know me you know I love to rant - equality, gay marriage, gun control, Tony Abbott being my frequent choices (a little controversial there). My best friend, my mother duck and my pa tend to be the ears to these rants and not all that willingly sometimes but I intend to let this book replace them (not physically of course, I'm sort of attached to the three most important people in my life).

There is something about writing out your frustrations that equates to yelling them - the imprint of the words marking the following pages as the pressure of your annoyance is put on the pen. And when it's done you just shut the book, closing yourself off from it even just for a little while.

This book might just be my knight in shining armour, protecting me from human stupidity that is all too common and you can pick it up quite cheaply from the Book Depository here

Leave me a comment telling me your biggest gripe with the world and your definitive conclusion about humanity as a result of it.
